Crowned with Authority

Psalm 8:3-9

Pray this with me...

"Lord, let your words grow in my heart. Reveal your scripture to me. Amen."

"When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—

the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority—the flocks and the herds

and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,

and everything that swims the ocean currents. O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!"

Reading this excerpt from Psalms, we can see the beauty of creation which God laid out before us. David the writer is speaking about the splendor of the Lord to put authority over all created things in the hands of man. What an amazing thing it is to be created in the image of God, just slightly lower than Him. The Bible also says in the beginning that God gave man dominion over every living thing.

What should I take from this? Take this verse as encouragement. You are made in God's image and with His power inside you. You can command things that are not to be and they must obey. All of creation is below you because of the authority you have in Christ. Walk in power and remember your position as a child of the King. Wear your Crown of Authority daily.

Let's close in prayer. Pray this with me...

"Dear Jesus, thank you for the authority you have given me. Teach me to walk in the heavenly authority that I was made to carry. Lord, guide me to live like you did, in power and love. Jesus, help me to appreciate creation in a new way every day. Thank you that your mercies are new every day and forgive me of any time I took you for granted. I love you more than my next breathe. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen."
