"And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”
Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”
So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook."
1 Kings 17:1-7 NKJV
In this passage, the prophet Elijah went and declared a drought over the land because the King, (Ahab), was leading the people into wickedness and provoking the Lord to anger. Instead of worshiping the Lord, Ahab made the people worship the Idols of Baal, and he hunted the prophets of the Lord to destroy them. After Elijah declared the drought, the Lord commanded him to go into the wilderness and stay at the brook Cherith while He supplied Elijah with food from ravens. so He did as the Lord commanded him and he ate the food that the ravens brought him. The bible says that he stayed in that place until the Brook dried up. Then God Commanded him to go to Zeriphath, to a widow who would give him lodging and food. He stayed with the widow and her son for a while and God multiplied the widows supplies. When the widows son died Elijah prayed to God and The Lord brought her son back to life. For about three years Elijah stayed in hiding doing all that God commanded him till the Lord told him to go back to Ahab to declare the end of the drought and to present the people before him on mount Carmel.
During the time that Elijah was in hiding, God told him where to go, and as Elijah obeyed, The Lord provided for him as He said He would.
The Bible is clear that The lord gives us everything we need, to do what he asks us to do, and when we are led by Him, He goes with us, and we walk in His authority and in His Power.
Pray with me, "Lord, Thank you for leading me and giving me every thing I need to do what you want me to do. I lay down every worry and stress, for the things I don't know and can't control, and I rests in your presence here with me. In Jesus name, Amen."
